Nostalgic for the early days of video games? We are! Mostly the old coin-op classics of the 1980's. Now that this style of games is making a comeback on today's mobile devices, we just had to jump on the bandwagon and share our passion for it. Hope you enjoy our contributions to this classic art form!
Kirk is our software expert. He has been creating games on his computer since he was a kid. He had the idea for Space Carom back in the late 80's, but couldn't get the physics to work on his Commodore Amiga. After completing his MS in Computer Science from the Ohio State University, he worked as a technical director at Pixar Animation Studios and Digital Domain. His film credits include A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and The Day After Tomorrow. Kirk has also developed innovative, custom software for various companies. Despite his best efforts, a lot of wishful thinking and a few tantrums, his accomplishments still do not include professional golf.
Kara is a graphic artist and animator. After getting her MFA from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she worked at Pixar Animation Studios as a character animator on A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and the Oscar winning short, Geri's Game. (Like everyone on the Geri team, Kara got to take that fabulous golden trophy home for a few days and pretend it was all hers. True story.) She has also worked as a graphic designer, creating logos, corporate identities, and websites. In her spare time, Kara writes fiction, worships the sun, and collects shoes.
In loving memory
Kona was the center of our lives, so naturally she was a crucial part of our team during the development of Space Carom. Her crazy antics and beautiful spirit will be remembered always with great love and affection.
